This Week at the #NextMediaPark (June 22 – June 28, 2026)

Leadership, innovation, justice, culture, and championship moments. From national conversations to community celebrations, our brands were wherever the story unfolded. Here’s a look at another remarkable week across the #NextMediaPark.

The week began with NBS covering the celebration of QSSG Uganda’s 20 years of service at Kabira Country Club in Kampala. The event brought together founders, partners, clients, and beneficiaries to reflect on two decades of growth while unveiling the organization’s next chapter. It was a celebration of partnership, resilience, and long-term impact.

On Tuesday, we hosted the official launch of Gonza Pay at the Next Conference Centre. Introduced by Centenary Bank, the all-in-one digital wallet is designed to simplify everyday financial services while expanding financial inclusion across Uganda. The launch reinforced Next Media Park’s position as a destination for conversations shaping the country’s digital future.

The same day, a report from court as proceedings continued in the murder case of fallen rugby player Sailor Sydney Gongodyo. By bringing audiences factual and timely courtroom updates, the coverage ensured the rugby fraternity and the wider public remained informed as the legal process continued.

Tuesday also marked another significant milestone as Next Media and Capital Radio Group announced a strategic partnership focused on content collaboration, audience engagement, and innovative advertising solutions. The collaboration creates new opportunities to deliver greater value to audiences and business partners through shared experiences across multiple platforms.

On Wednesday, NBS covered the inauguration of Hon. Fadil Twalla as Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda at the organization’s headquarters in Naguru. Leaders used the occasion to outline priorities centred on unity, leadership, and youth participation as a new chapter officially began.

Thursday brought one of the week’s most widely followed stories as NBS, Sanyuka TV, and AfroMobile covered the release of the government’s forensic DNA findings regarding the paternity of the late music legend Paul Kafeero. The announcement brought long-awaited clarity to a matter that had generated public interest for years, demonstrating the role of factual reporting in addressing issues of national attention.

Radio Walla also provided coverage of a briefing hosted by the High Commission of India in Kampala on the National Family Health Survey. Discussions explored health, nutrition, fertility, and social development, while highlighting the value of data-driven policy in improving public health outcomes.

From Thursday through Friday, Next Media partnered with the UG Catalyst Summit 2026 at MOTIV Bugolobi through NBS Television and AfroMobile. The summit convened government leaders, entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and development partners to discuss practical strategies for accelerating Uganda’s economic growth through innovation and entrepreneurship. The event reinforced the importance of collaboration in shaping the country’s future.

On Friday, NBS hosted another impactful edition of the NBS Media Round Table. The discussion brought together a photojournalist, Ninye Tabz, for an honest conversation about press freedom, journalist safety, and media rights. The programme once again demonstrated the value of open dialogue on issues affecting the media profession.

Saturday remained equally busy across the Next Media family. Radio Walla welcomed Srikant Wikhe, Managing Director of Bank of India Uganda, for an insightful discussion on business growth, SME financing, and opportunities to strengthen trade between Uganda and India. The conversation offered valuable perspectives for entrepreneurs and the business community.

Sports fans were treated to thrilling live coverage as NBS Sport broadcast the Uganda Rugby Premiership Final from Kings Park Arena, where Pirates Rugby Club edged Buffaloes Rugby Club 30-29 to claim the championship. The dramatic encounter showcased the excitement and growth of Ugandan rugby while bringing supporters closer to every decisive moment.

NBS Sport also covered the Buganda Royal Regatta at Nakiwogo in Entebbe, celebrating one of the Kingdom’s oldest sporting traditions. Canoe races, cultural performances, and community participation highlighted the enduring connection between sport, heritage, and tourism.

Meanwhile, NBS and AfroMobile were on the ground at Las Vegas Hotel in Bunga for the Rotary Club of Muyenga Installation Ceremony. Rotarian Beatrice Lugalambi officially assumed office as the club’s 39th President during an evening dedicated to service, fellowship, and community leadership.

As the week concluded, Salam TV provided live coverage from Kibuli Grand Mosque during ceremonies honouring the legacy of Prince Nuuhu Mbogo Kyabasinga following his return from exile. Community leaders and faithful reflected on an important chapter in Buganda’s history, preserving stories that continue to shape cultural identity.

From boardrooms to courtrooms, from sporting arenas to places of worship, and from innovation summits to community celebrations, we remained where the story was happening.

These are some of the moments our brands shared with audiences across Uganda this week. Every story informed, every conversation connected people, and every platform continued advancing our commitment to inform, educate, and transform communities.
