NBS Television continues to make a difference with “Mr. and Miss Ability 2021” CSR

NBS Television has been making a difference in the lives of Ugandans since its inception, with notable works around mosque building in support of Salam Television and Salam Charity, cancer awareness,  blood donation drives, relief support drives, among so many other activities.

On Thursday 2nd December 2021, at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel, the inaugural “Mr. and Miss Ability 2021” was held to recognize the unique abilities of people living with disabilities. NBS Television was on board as media partners, which went a long way to amplify the noble message.

At the event, Northern Region’s Richard Ocira was emerged as Mr. Ability 2021, with Central Region’s Iryne Nanyanzi emerging as Miss Ability 2021, at an event where the Guest of Honour was Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development, Hon. Betty Amongi Akena.

Desire Derekford Mugumisa, the Next Media Services Head of Brand and Communications and our representative at the event, said, “Over the years, many Ugandans with disabling conditions have faced stigma and discrimination at different levels of their lives, making the opportunity to be part of a young campaign like this a no-brainer – we as a media house believe more funding to enable them to live fuller lives can be provided, and our role is to emphasize this need.”

As a company that stands for blindness against all forms of discrimination, opportunities that cause impact to Ugandan communities rank high on Next Media’s CSR agenda.
