Salam TV Back to School Challenge Comes to an End

After a month, the Salam Television Back to School Challenge has ended with one overall and three other winners. The Back to School Challenge has been a live televised Quiz that brought together O’ Level students to compete to win back to school goodies.

The Challenge started airing on January 17th 2022, on Salam TV and was crowned off on 17th February.
Salam Television used this Challenge to voice the effects of the pandemic on Uganda with a keen eye on the education sector. With schools reopening, some learners struggled to raise money for school fees and other school requirements, which the winners have now been supported with. It was also used to encourage students to go back to school after over 22 months with schools closed.

“Our objective to support vulnerable Ugandans return to school post the COVID-19 lockdown has been met, and I am proud of the execution team – initiatives such as these, and the smiles they bring to fellow Ugandans, are why we are in existence,” said Haruna Mubiru, the Salam Charity General Manager.

After a series of competitive stages, Nakagimu emerged the winner, with Jenna, Bayiga and Nanyonjo following suit. Winners took home School fees worth 1.5 million Ugandan shillings
scholastic materials like shoes and books, among others from Movit, Sumz Foods, BUBU distributors, Bravo Shoes, and Salam Charity.
