Next Radio Set to Return to Normal Programming

After two weeks of playing only music, Uganda’s first audio-visual radio, Next Radio, returns to normal programming on Monday, March 28, 2022. Management confirmed this through an official statement issued to staff, media, and social media.

On March 13, 2022, a decision was made to play just music and adverts so the station could be realigned. This was informed by findings that indicated that the tastes and preferences of the Next Radio audience had changed due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, requiring the station to realign and meet demands.

Since then, top management and hosts have retreated, refocused and strategised on the station’s future. This move has warranted change from recruiting new faces to re-distributing existing ones.
