Next Media’s Deputy Group CEO and Chief Strategy Officer, Joseph Kigozi, is the man that has been handed the mantle to ensure this new brand is a success as the General Manager, NBS Sport. Commonly called Joe by many, Kigozi is one of Uganda’s longer-serving media experts, having amassed over 15 years of expertise in developing and building brands.
He speaks so fondly of NBS Sport that if you didn’t know enough, you could easily think the station has been in existence for ages, “My new Assignment at Next Media is to lead a team that is Championing Ugandan Sport. We have the best team to deliver on our promise of bringing all nature of the sport to our viewers live, every day, everywhere.”
Back in the day, Kigozi started hosting one of the leading sports shows on NBS, 442. He was also a guest commentator on GTV in 2008 when Uganda played Ghana in the Africa Cup of Nations. His passion for sports guided him to start the Joe Kigozi Academy, a learning institution/ soccer academy for young football players to enable them to study as they build their talents in football.
Kigozi also has experience developing and executing corporate PR campaigns such as the NBS Housing Baraza, which aims to bring affordable housing to Uganda, a nation currently suffering from a lack of affordable housing availability.
Kigozi’s vision is to empower young people with his knowledge and skills to be recognized as the most ethical, authentic and reliable individuals in their various fields of work. This has been reflected in his work over time.
