Next Media is ISO 9001:2015 and ISAS Media 9001:2016 Certified!

Every day, Next Media is more alert to meeting customer requirements and exceeding their expectations. This has led to many milestones, the latest being the ISO Certification.

After over eight months of vigorously developing a full Quality Management System and establishing policies, procedures and processes that align with the international standards, Next Media is ISO 9001:2015 and ISAS Media 9001:2016 Certified.

ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems — Requirements (ISO 9001) is the world’s most recognized quality standard. It sets the requirements for a quality management system (QMS). It is designed to help organizations meet the needs of their customers by consistently providing quality products and services that meet regulatory requirements.

It is part of the ISO 9000 series of quality standards which outline the fundamental concepts and principles of an effective QMS. ISO 9001 is the only standard in the ISO 9000 family that can be certified. With over a million certificates issued across 190 countries worldwide, ISO 9001 is also the most popular out of the 22,000+ ISO standards currently in existence.

Being ISO 9001 compliant means adhering to the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard. An organization is deemed ISO 9001 compliant when its processes are consistent with the standard’s requirements for a QMS.

“The ISO and ISAS certifications mean that Next Media will have highly effective systems and processes, enabling the Group to deal with quality issues since we can now better prevent them from occurring in the first place,” Nicholas Ngobi, one of the Transformers who participated in this journey, shared on what the ISO Certifications mean for Next Media.

Ngobi added, “The process was challenging yet extremely fulfilling because it not only adds to Next Media’s vision to dominate the East African media landscape but also gives the organization international recognition. The sky is nothing but the limit from here, congratulations to Next Media.”

While celebrating this win, Next Media Board Chairman, Baguma thanked the team for participating in the process and getting certified, “You can’t afford to fall short on expectation – you can only maintain or exceed. We must be able to showcase what we can do on the global level because we have Global competence. We have achieved the milestone, and now it is about how to stay at the top – it is about staying at the top”, he said.

Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa took to his Twitter platform to let Ugandans and the world know that Next Media is ISO Certified. “I am honoured to announce that Next Media is ISO Certified! It goes without saying – this is a huge milestone for us, a progressive brand pushing for the global narrative, especially for our motherland Uganda. Great thanks go out to the Board that has led us on this vision, to our Top Management Team that bought into the idea and facilitated the work that went into it and especially to the fantastic team of 16 that have delivered this milestone at our first attempt.
