Salam TV breaking stereotypes and encouraging inclusivity through ‘Hijab Month’ partnership

Salam TV is set to participate in Hijab Month, an annual event that celebrates the hijab, the headscarf worn by Muslim women as a symbol of modesty and religious observance. The event that happens every February serves as a platform to educate people about the cultural and spiritual significance of hijab and to promote understanding and acceptance of diverse cultural practices.

This year’s event is celebrated under the theme “Progression, not Oppression” and will be broadcast on Salam TV. According to Hajji Karim Kaliisa, General Manager of Salam TV, the station is proud to be associated with this celebration.

“Salam TV aims to highlight the positive impact that the hijab has on the lives of those who choose to wear it. As part of the celebration, we are encouraging people to share their hijab stories and express why they are proud to wear it. This can be done by submitting pictures and videos on WhatsApp to +256 786 103200,” Hajji Karim said.

During this month, Salam TV will broadcast events such as hijab-wearing workshops, fashion shows, and cultural fairs that are often organised to bring people together and celebrate the diversity of hijab styles and their cultural and religious significance.
