The 4th Edition of the UG Economic Forum commenced on September 16th at Next Media Park, gathering influential voices from the public and private sectors to discuss Uganda’s economic future. Under the theme “Unlocking Uganda’s Economic Potential: Strategies for Sustainable Growth and Development,” the forum seeks to provide a platform for collaboration, dialogue, and practical solutions aimed at revitalizing Uganda’s economy.

Opening the forum, Joe Kigozi, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Strategy Officer at Next Media, made it clear that Next Media is fully committed to driving conversations that place the economy at the forefront of national discourse. His remarks underscored the vital role media plays in shaping public awareness, and policy discussions, and influencing change that benefits the broader economy.

Our role as Next Media is to ensure that the economy takes center stage in the discussions happening across the country,” Kigozi said. “We are dedicating our airwaves to these crucial conversations, giving a voice to the key players driving Uganda’s economic future.”

Kigozi emphasized that the media has a responsibility to ensure that the conversations on economic policies, challenges, and opportunities reach as many people as possible, especially at a time when the nation is navigating a path towards sustainable growth. He highlighted the forum’s value in bringing together diverse stakeholders, ensuring inclusive dialogue, and fostering actionable solutions.

At Next Media, we believe we have a role to play in shaping the economic discussions that enter our living rooms. We are delighted to provide a platform for these conversations, and we hope that some of the ideas and resolutions brought forward today can be taken up by our leadership, Kigozi added.

His remarks captured the essence of Next Media’s dedication to leveraging its platforms, particularly NBS TV, to ensure that conversations on fiscal strategies, economic recovery, and sustainable development resonate across the country.
