At Next Media, collaboration is at the heart of our mission to inform, educate, and inspire. We were honored to host the Inspector General of Police, Afande Abas Byakagaba, at the #NextMediaPark, where key issues were discussed.
Afande Byakagaba commended our #DisMisFakeNews campaign, which is leading the charge in the fight against misinformation. With support from partners like the Uganda Police Force, Uganda Communications Commission, and the Ministry of ICT, we remain steadfast in our mission to protect truth and build trust.
The discussions also centered around the upcoming election season and the need for closer collaboration between the media and law enforcement to ensure credible reporting during this critical time.
Addressing the issue of fraudsters impersonating journalists, we pledged to work with the Uganda Police to safeguard the reputation of Uganda’s media industry.
