Last week, our teams and brands fanned out across the nation, capturing a wide range of engagements that reflected the diversity of the communities we serve. From national commemorations and diplomatic events to youth creativity and market activations, it was a week defined by connection, coverage, and collaboration.
Honoring Heritage and Diplomacy
The week began on a note of international fellowship as we joined the High Commission of India in celebrating 77 years of constitutional democracy. Through our brands, Radio Walla and Afromobile, we presented the rich ceremonies honoring the unity and shared heritage of the Indian community in Uganda.
The celebrations, which commenced at the High Commission, extended to a formal dinner at Sheraton Kampala, where we captured the blend of diplomacy and deep cultural connection. This coverage underscores our role in fostering and documenting the international relationships that shape our social fabric.
Concurrently, our cameras were positioned at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to broadcast the national proceedings of the Uganda Liberation Day celebrations during the 40th NRM commemorations. The broadcast captured an important national moment, allowing viewers to follow proceedings as they unfolded.
Taking the Vibe to the People
True to our promise of staying connected with everyday life, Sanyuka Television took #OwakabiWaSanyuka campaign directly to the masses. The team activated in Kasangati Market, where #SanyukaTunyuke turned its spotlight onto the vibrant community of vendors. This was an immersion, sharing the authentic lifestyles, businesses, and energy of the market with the nation, reinforcing our bond with viewers in their own spaces.
Celebrating Excellence
In a highlight of the week, we were privileged to cover the Mustard Seed Awards 2025 in Ntungamo district. Attended by His Excellency President Kaguta Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni, the event celebrated outstanding contributions to community and national development across two inspiring venues: Coffee Resort Beach in Nyabihoko and Inspire Coffee Park in Rwashamire.
Empowering Youth
Back at #NextMediaPark, the focus shifted to the next generation of creators. NBS Plus hosted #TheLegendsWatchParty, premiering a compelling film produced by students from Elite High School. This initiative is a cornerstone of our #Nextars program, actively investing in and amplifying the voices of young Ugandan storytellers, proving that great talent starts with early support.
Championing Local Creativity and Commerce
Wrapping up the week’s engagements, the #Nextars initiative also activated at the #QuonnectMarket in Bugolobi. This event championed local youth vendors and entrepreneurs, creating a dynamic platform for unique, affordable Ugandan products. By spotlighting these creative businesses, we continue to support the ecosystem of local talent and commerce beyond the airwaves.
Informed to Transform
From the formal grounds of diplomatic celebrations to the bustling aisles of local markets, last week exemplified the breadth of Next Media’s reach. We do not just report events; we engage with communities, celebrate national milestones, and empower emerging voices. Each broadcast, activation, and coverage is driven by the commitment to inform, connect, and ultimately, transform.
We thank our partners, participants, and loyal audiences for being part of this journey. Stay tuned to our platforms as we continue to bring the many faces and stories of Uganda to your screen.
