This past week, our brands moved across the country and beyond to capture stories of charity, creativity, education, music, and community. From boardrooms to marketplaces, our teams stayed where the story lives and brought it closer to you.
The week opened with a call to action. NBS Sport joined Absa Bank Uganda as media partner for the launch of the Absa KH3 7 Hills Run. Set for April 26 at Kololo Airstrip, this year’s race targets 10,000 participants and aims to raise UGX 1 billion in support of initiatives that keep girls in school
Also on Monday, Salam Charity, led by Managing Director Hajj Karim Kaliisa, conducted a feasibility study in Katakwi and Luuka District. The team assessed pressing needs within the Muslim community, laying the groundwork for meaningful interventions in the months ahead.
Thursday celebrated sound and story. Next Creata hosted the second edition of Creata Connect at the Next Conference Centre in commemoration of Africa Podcast Day. Podcasters and creatives from across the country gathered to learn, connect, and explore monetisation in the growing audio space.
That same evening, love was in the air. Sanyuka TV hosted the Eki Love Love Vybe Session at Jovia City in Makindye. Live performances, good energy, and genuine connection set the tone for Valentine’s week, bringing the Sanyuka spirit directly to the people.
Friday marked a significant milestone for thousands of Ugandan students. NBS broadcast the official release of the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education examination results from State House Nakasero, where officials from UNEB and the Ministry of Education and Sports addressed the nation.
Still on Friday, the Sanyuka Tunnyuke crew took the Owakabi Wa Sanyuka activation to Bunamwaya, meeting communities through music, live interaction, and shared experiences.
Saturday night belonged to the lovers. Sanyuka TV and NBS Music streamed Geosteady Live in Concert at Sheraton Kampala, bringing a night of music and Valentine’s celebration to audiences across the nation.
Earlier that day, the Omumanyi wa Salam TV National Competition grand finale lit up Next Media Park. Contestants competed for the ultimate prize, a brand new car with runners-up receiving rewards from partners including Chapa General Enterprises, Sumz Snacks, Salaam Bank, Charity Salam, Muzaata Tours & Travel, and Infotrust Property Consultants.
Also on Saturday, NBS Plus hosted the Valenteenz Summit Uganda at Next Media Park. Teens from across the country gathered for honest conversations on love, relationships, leadership, and the real choices shaping their lives. It was a safe space for young voices to learn, share, and grow.
As the week drew to a close, we also carried heavy hearts. We lost our colleague, Julius Kitone, who died in a car accident. Julius will be remembered for his quiet excellence, dedication, and service to our newsroom and the wider Next Media family. May his soul rest in peace.
From exam halls to concert halls, from community outreach to cultural celebration, Next Media stayed where the story lives. We thank the communities, partners, and audiences who continue to welcome our teams.
