This Week at the #NextMediaPark (March 16 – March 22, 2026)

History, heartbeat, and a whole lot of hustle. Our brands were everywhere this week, and we mean everywhere. From Parliament to the pitch, from Eid prayers to game design, from auditions to graduations, we stayed where the story lives.

Musicians stepped up, and sometimes they make history. On Tuesday, NBS and Sanyuka were in the parliamentary gallery as artists led by Eddy Kenzo watched the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights (Amendment) Bill, 2025, pass. Years of fighting for creative rights finally paid off, and the nation watched it happen.

Also on Tuesday, NBS followed Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II to Katwe Market, where traders are rebuilding after a devastating fire. He showed up. So did we. Because some stories are about more than news. They are about solidarity.

Salam TV and Honda Markh headed to Luuka District on Tuesday for socio-economic training with Muslim leaders, and Salam Charity followed it up with Eid packages for those same leaders. Invest in people. Then celebrate with them.

On Wednesday, representatives from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions visited Salam Charity Headquarters and made a donation toward development initiatives in Luuka District. When institutions show up for communities, things change.

Baby steps, quite literally. On Thursday, NBS covered the delivery of medical equipment to Rubaare Health Centre IV ahead of the March 28 commissioning of the Mama Kariisa Maternity Ward. A gift from the Kariisa family, in partnership with Rotary Club of Kigo Seven Lakes Golf. Mothers in the region will soon have the care they deserve.

Think you have got the voice? Prove it. On Thursday, Next Radio threw open the doors for The Next Big Voice auditions at Next Creata Hub. Judges Patrick Salvado Idringi, Cleopatra Koheirwe, and Dr. Mitch Egwang had the exciting task of picking Uganda’s next radio stars. The talent in the room was undeniable.

Eid Mubarak. On Friday, Salam TV and NBS captured the beauty of Eid al-Fitr, the prayers, the joy, the families reunited. Some moments do not need commentary. They just need a camera.

Uganda’s gaming scene just levelled up. On Saturday, NBS Sport was at the Deep Tech Center of Excellence for the launch of Game Jam 2026, a collaboration between the Science, Technology and Innovation Secretariat, Tech Anatomy, EDIC, and Arudem. Developers and creatives are building the future of African gaming together.

Bachelor’s done, futures ahead. NBS Plus was at Skyz Hotel on Saturday for the Makerere University College of Business and Management Sciences Finalist Dinner. Three years of late nights, group assignments, and growth were celebrated in proper style.

Mud. Muscle. Momentum. NBS Sport brought fans two blockbuster Enterprise Cup clashes at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku: Heathens RFC versus Kabras RFC, then Pirates Rugby UG versus KCB Rugby. Every try. Every tackle. All captured.

Ten years of good music, and good vibes. Swangz Avenue marked a decade of Roast and Rhyme with Reggae Ragga Nyam Nyam, and AfroMobile, Sanyuka, and NBS Music made sure the party reached screens everywhere.

Parliament to the pitch. Eid prayers to game design. Auditions to graduations. Community to celebration. We did not just cover the week. We lived it alongside you.

Because that is what we do. We stay where the story lives.
