Meet Lilian Mutesi, Next Media’s new highly-innovative Chief of Staff with a strong background in Project Management, Human Resource Management, and Management.
Mutesi is a management specialist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Management and Entrepreneurship from Uganda Christian University and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Human Resources from Uganda Management Institute (UMI). She is presently enrolled in UMI’s Master’s Program in Management.
Mutesi has more than seven years of experience in various roles, including administration, diplomacy, special project implementation, partnership development, business strategy, performance management, and human resource management. She has worked in the public and private sectors, gaining valuable experience in leading and managing teams, developing and implementing strategic plans, and improving organizational efficiency.
Mutesi is known for her ability to think outside the box and create creative solutions to complex problems. With her current employer, Next Media, making do with a heavy health insurance bill, Mutesi innovated the ‘Next Medicare Health System,’ offering highly-subsidized medical treatment to employees while having the company spend only on what had been spent
In her other role as Deputy Chief People Officer, Mutesi introduced the Workplace Experience function, primarily to boost employee morale. This innovation has brought about revolutionary change, created a high-performance culture, and enabled Next Media to achieve operational efficiency. She has also been key in the management of the hiring, training, and development of staff, as well as the efficient and effective coordination of the efforts of various teams and departments. She is also skilled in managing multiple projects at once and has a track record of delivering results on time and within budget. Her role as Assistant Project Manager for constructing the magnificent Next Media Park exemplifies this.
As Chief of Staff, Mutesi is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Next Media and working closely with the Group CEO to ensure that Uganda’s biggest multimedia group’s goals and objectives are met. She is a skilled communicator and is adept at building relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. With her strong education and experience in project management, human resources, and management, Mutesi is well-equipped to lead and support Next Media as it grows and evolves.
