Sanyuka TV, Uganda’s leading local entertainment channel that brings viewers all the amazing shows, presenters, musicians, comedians, DJs, and wholesome fun experiences, hosted the ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ event in various Kampala suburbs, drawing thousands of enthusiastic fans who enjoyed great music and had fun interactions with their favorite Sanyuka TV presenters.
In this interview, we speak with Nicholas Ngobi, the Sanyuka TV Brand Manager, about the campaign and what it means for the brand to have such interactions with its audiences.
How would you describe ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ activations?
Nicholas Ngobi: ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ activations can be described as interactive and engaging campaigns where we bring Sanyuka TV to our viewers by having all our shows in their communities and featuring them on the shows. ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ entertains all leaving them with ‘essanyu Munda Muli.’
What was the primary objective of ‘Sanyuka Naffe’, and how did it align with the overall Sanyuka TV strategy?
Nicholas Ngobi: The primary objective of ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ was to let Ugandans know about and share all the amazing things that Sanyuka TV is about, which are our shows, presenters, musicians, comedians, DJs, and the wholesome fun experience that makes Sanyuka TV, Uganda’s leading entertainment TV station. ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ is aimed at creating a stronger connection with our audiences, letting them know about all our shows and talent while rewarding their loyalty to the Sanyuka TV brand.
We understand there have been eight editions. What was the biggest of them, and what did you do differently on that edition?
Nicholas Ngobi: We have had eight significant activations this season (Nansana, Busega, Kawempe, Makindye Bukesa, Kabuusu, Nyanama, and Lubya), and it’s hard to pick one as the biggest. However, two notable activations were the finale at Georgina Gardens and Club Ambiance activations which were headlined by Eddy Kenzo and Jose Chameleone, respectively, who made the difference. Overall, we have surpassed our achievements in last year’s edition of ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ activations.
Is there a possibility of an extension of ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ to other regions?
Nicholas Ngobi: Yes, it’s not only a possibility but part of our plan to spread ‘Sanyuka Naffe’ outside Kampala and Wakiso. We are currently finalizing preparations internally and shall announce the regions and dates for the countrywide activations soon.
What other campaigns is Sanyuka TV running to engage the audiences?
Nicholas Ngobi: Yoola ne Sanyuka TV is still running, giving Sanyuka TV viewers an opportunity to win UGX 100,000 in either Morning Xpress, Music Jam Tunnyuke, or Big Deal daily by simply dialing 282*2*2# to enter our daily raffle draw. More campaigns and activities are on the way too.
