This year’s #RotaryCancerRun24 was more than just a race; it was a powerful display of unity, hope, and resilience in the fight against cancer. At Next Media, we are proud to have been a significant part of this event, joining forces with communities across Uganda to raise awareness and support for this crucial cause.
Our team at Salam TV, along with the Ntungamo community, also came together to run, walk, and spread the message of hope and early detection held at the Kyamate playground. The event was graciously flagged off by Hon. Baata Kamateneti, the Woman MP of Ntungamo District, marking the start of a day filled with energy and purpose.
Our commitment to making a difference did not go unnoticed. After the Cancer Run, our Deputy Group CEO, Joe Kigozi, who also serves as the General Manager of NBS Sport, was recognized for our efforts. NBS Sport received an award for its outstanding contribution to the #RotaryCancerRun24 campaign, a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team in spreading the word and encouraging participation.
This award is not just a recognition of our efforts; it is a reminder of the impact that media can have in driving social change. Through our platforms, including NBS Sport and Salam TV, we have reached thousands, amplifying the importance of cancer awareness and the need for early detection. We are deeply humbled and inspired to continue this work, knowing that every broadcast, every message, and every event we support contributes to saving lives.
As we reflect on this achievement, we are reminded of the words we live by: to #SpreadMagicInEveryStep. Today, that magic is in the collective strides we took with our community, the stories we shared, and the hope we ignited in the fight against cancer. Together, we are making a difference, one step at a time.
