THE NEXTARS EVENT DISCLAIMER & TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

By registering for, attending, or participating in this event (“the Event”), you (“Participant”) or your legal guardian (if under 18 years of age), hereby acknowledge and agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. GENERAL PARTICIPATION CONSENT

  • This Event is organized by NBS Television (NBS Plus and Pulse Radio) in partnership with it’s sponsors and other affiliates (including; “subsidiaries of Next Media Services as a Group”) hereinafter referred to as “the Organisers
  • Participation is voluntary and by doing so, all Participants agree to abide by these terms.

2. DATA COLLECTION & PRIVACY

  • Personal information (such as name, age, contact details) collected at registration or during the Event will be used solely for event administration, security, and marketing purposes in compliance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, and all laws of Uganda
  • By entering the Event premises/Next Media Park or signing up, Participants and their guardians (for minors) consent to the collection, processing, and storage of their data by the Organisers and their authorised partners.

3. IMAGE, AUDIO & VIDEO CONSENT

  • The Event will be photographed, recorded (audio and video), livestreamed, and broadcast across media platforms including TV, radio, social media, and digital platforms.
  • Participants grant full, unrestricted, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to the Organisers and Sponsors to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, publish, and display their image, voice, and likeness captured at the Event in any media for promotional, marketing, and documentary purposes.
  • This includes group and individual recordings without further notice, approval, or compensation.

4. COPYRIGHT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • All materials, content, and media created by the Organisers during the Event (e.g., photos, videos, performances) remain the exclusive property of the Organisers and/or their sponsors.
  • Participants shall not claim any ownership or usage rights over such content unless a separate written agreement exists.

5. CONTENT SHARED BY PARTICIPANTS

  • Any content submitted or performed by Participants (music, art, speeches, etc.) at the Event must be original or used with proper permissions.
  • By presenting content at the Event, Participants grant the Organisers a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute the content in connection with the Event and its promotion.

6. MINORS (UNDER 18 YEARS)

  • It is hereby presumed that Participants under 18 years have or have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian, which will be required in written or electronic form prior to entry or participation.
  • Organisers will take reasonable measures to ensure the safety of minors but do not assume legal responsibility for their unsupervised movement within the event space and may be held liable for any liability arising out of the same.

7. CONDUCT AND SAFETY

  • All Participants are expected to conduct themselves respectfully and responsibly.
  • Organisers reserve the right to remove any individual who acts in a disruptive, unsafe, or unlawful manner.

8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

  • The Organisers and their Sponsors shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, theft, or damage to personal property during the Event, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
  • Attendance is at the Participant’s own risk.

9. MEDIA USAGE BY PARTICIPANTS

  • Participants are permitted to take photos and short videos for personal use, but may not livestream or record entire segments for commercial purposes without written permission from the Organisers.

10. AMENDMENTS

  • These Terms may be amended at any time by the Organisers without prior notice. Updates will be communicated through official channels.

By attending or participating in this Event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the above Terms and Conditions.
