Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Overview
The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be instrumental in shaping the company’s technological vision, implementing strategies, and ensuring that resources are aligned with business needs. Beyond driving the technology agenda, the CTO will also oversee the operations, growth, and profitability of Hillcom, the technology and communications subsidiary. The role carries accountability for broadcast engineering, ensuring that all broadcast systems and workflows meet global standards of reliability, quality, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy and Vision
•Develop and execute the overall technology strategy in alignment with the company’s goals and objectives.
•Lead the development and implementation of a forward-looking technology roadmap.
Innovation and Research
•Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
•Conduct research to identify new technologies and their potential applications for the business.
Team Leadership
•Provide strong leadership to the technology and broadcast engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
•Oversee recruitment, training, and professional development within the teams.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
•Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of the company’s technology infrastructure.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and implement new systems and enhancements.
•Oversee data security, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
Broadcast Engineering
•Manage and maintain all broadcast transmission systems, studio equipment, and supporting infrastructure.
•Ensure uninterrupted on-air operations through proactive monitoring, rapid troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
•Drive upgrades to broadcast systems, including migration to digital, IP-based, and cloud-enabled platforms.
•Establish and enforce engineering standards, compliance, and regulatory requirements for broadcasting.
•Lead technical support for live productions, special events, and remote broadcasts.
•Optimize workflows for production, playout, and distribution across TV, radio, and digital platforms.
Collaboration
•Partner with other departments to understand technology and broadcast needs, delivering tailored solutions.
•Work closely with content, production, and creative teams to integrate advanced technology into media workflows.
Budget Management
•Develop and manage the technology and engineering budgets, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
•Negotiate with vendors and manage contracts for broadcast and IT equipment.
Hillcom Business Leadership
•Oversee and manage the operations of Hillcom, ensuring growth, profitability, and strategic alignment.
•Develop and implement strategies for Hillcom’s market expansion and revenue growth.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Broadcast Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior technology leadership role (CTO or equivalent).
•Proven expertise in broadcast engineering, including transmission, playout systems, and digital media workflows.
•Strong understanding of media technology, broadcasting, and digital platforms.
•Demonstrated success in developing and implementing technology strategies aligned with business goals.
•Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
