The third edition of the NBS Housing Baraza, powered by NBS Television and Housing Finance Bank and supported by National Housing, Soliton Telmec Uganda, and Habitat for Humanity Uganda, concluded on Friday 15th October 2021 and registered a massive success.
The biggest highlight will have been the Vice President of Uganda, H.E. Jessica Alupo, not only gracing the event’s opening ceremony but also requesting a Paper from the proceedings so she can present it to Cabinet to further find solutions toward affordable housing for all Ugandans!
The two-day event, hosted at the Next Media Park’s Next Conference Centre, made for great visuals on Ugandans’ TV sets, with the impression of a conversation on housing in a home set-up, as supported by a Ugandan furniture company, “Smart Carpets.”
While delivering her closing remarks, State Minister for Housing, Persis Namuganza, said, “We shall continue to enact more laws as far as the housing sector is concerned so that the sector is given as much support as possible.”
Addressing the organizing committee after the event’s conclusion, Arthur Mukembo, the NBS Housing Baraza Executive Producer, said, “Thank you so much, everyone, for your time, energy, creativity, and other efforts towards the 3rd Edition of the Housing Baraza. This humble platform is evolving into a major component of the housing conversation in the country and resulting in real solutions to this important problem, all because of you.”
Pictorial of the Two Day event:
“What we have managed to put together over the last two days has been three months of work by a team of some of the most creative Ugandans we have in both the media and housing industries, and a great addition to what we really mean when we say we inform to transform,” said Desire Derekford Mugumisa, NBS Television’s Brand Manager and Next Media Services’ Head of Brand and Communications.
