Next Media hosted a special celebration to recognize and appreciate the women who contribute to the success of its brands, bringing together women from across departments for an afternoon of reflection, connection, and celebration.
Held on March 6 at the Next Media Park under the theme “She Ready: You’re Seen. You’re Heard. You’re Valued,” the event was organized by the Next Media leadership team as part of activities leading up to International Women’s Day on March 8.
The celebration was designed to honor the women who power the organization every day across its ecosystem, from newsroom and production teams to marketing, human resources, finance, audit, digital, and technical departments, as well as support services including cleaners, waiters, and security personnel who contribute to the daily operations of the media house.
Speaking about the concept behind the event, Joy Mwangi, Chief Marketing Officer at Next Media, noted that the celebration was intended to create a space where women could connect, share experiences, and reflect on their journeys beyond their professional roles.
The afternoon featured an engaging panel discussion with remarkable women leaders, including Ambassador Rosa Malango, Special Presidential Envoy for Tourism & Trade; Anete Garoza, Co-Founder of 1MTN and Board Member at Next Media; and Marion Etiang-Busingye, CEO of MOHCA Beauty.
During the conversation, the speakers shared personal reflections on womanhood, confidence, identity, and the life experiences that shape women both personally and professionally. Their insights sparked meaningful conversations among the women present, many of whom shared their own stories about navigating life, ambition, and personal growth.
Beyond the discussions, the event also featured vibrant performances by Karole Kasita, Jowy Landa, and DJ Tutu, creating a lively and joyful atmosphere as women gathered to celebrate and appreciate one another.
The celebration was made possible through the support of several partners who contributed to making the day memorable for the women of Next Media. Sheraton Kampala Hotel provided food and cake, Peno Events handled the event setup, Tasty Goldy and Ballerina Beauty Spot offered gift hampers, while Kinetics provided manicure and pedicure services for the attendees.
Through the She Ready celebration, Next Media reaffirmed its commitment to recognizing and appreciating the people behind its brands, particularly the women whose dedication, creativity, and resilience continue to shape the company’s storytelling and growth.
As the world prepares to mark International Women’s Day, the event served as a reminder that behind every Next Media brand are women whose contributions make a lasting impact.
