The #NextMediaPark came alive on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, as we hosted the official press conference for Ray G Live in Concert, bringing together artists, media personalities, promoters, content creators, and fans ahead of the highly anticipated show set for August 7, 2026, at Kololo Airstrip.
The event marked another milestone in our continued support for Uganda’s creative industry, with AfroMobile, UgaTunes, NBS Music, and Sanyuka TV proudly joining the concert as official sponsors and partners.
Our relationship with Ray G extends beyond this year’s concert. Over the years, we have supported his musical journey through our platforms, helping amplify his music and celebrate his contribution to Uganda’s entertainment industry. Ahead of the press conference, Ray G also met with our Group CEO, Kin Kariisa, and members of the Next Media leadership team to discuss the upcoming concert and the shared vision of promoting Ugandan talent through meaningful partnerships.
Hosted at Next Media Park, the press conference offered fans and the media an opportunity to hear directly from the artist and organizers about what audiences should expect from the concert.
Speaking during the event, Ray G said the concert is centered on giving fans the experience they have been waiting for.
“It’s not about money, it’s about giving people the service they want. They wanted a concert in Kampala, and here it is. We care more about what we give than what we get,” he said.
He also explained the decision to stage the concert at Kololo Airstrip.
“We wanted a bigger space where people can fit comfortably because last time we had challenges with seating. I believe Kololo Airstrip is the best venue for the show,” he noted.
Widely recognized as the king of contemporary heritage music in Western Uganda, Ray G has remained true to his Runyankore roots while growing into one of Uganda’s most influential artists, attracting audiences across the country and the East African region.
For us, supporting Ray G Live in Concert goes beyond sponsorship. It reflects our commitment to creating platforms that celebrate Ugandan talent, strengthen the creative economy, and bring audiences closer to the stories and artists shaping the country’s entertainment landscape.
As the countdown to August 7 begins, our audiences can look forward to extensive coverage across AfroMobile, UgaTunes, NBS Music, and Sanyuka TV as we journey with Ray G toward what promises to be one of Uganda’s biggest musical events of the year.
