On January 31, 2026, NBS Plus and Elite High School Entebbe held a special premiere at Next Media Park for the student-made film “Legends.” The watch party highlighted young talent, creativity, teamwork, and NBS Plus’s commitment to supporting Uganda’s creative economy.
“Legends” delves into the dynamic world of elite academia, exploring themes of social dynamics and rivalry through compelling characters. By bringing this project to life through NJOVU Studios Africa, the students have showcased a level of skill and narrative understanding that signals a promising future for Ugandan cinema.
NBS Plus designed the event to mirror the energy and promise of the film itself. With free entry for students, the atmosphere was one of collective celebration and support. The watch party was enriched by engaging entertainment moments, including a “Sip and Play” segment sponsored by Fanta and SUMS, adding to the festivities.
This initiative is a core part of the NBS Plus mission to empower young creatives. In a media landscape where the creative economy is increasingly vital, providing tangible platforms for students is essential. The event allowed participants to showcase diverse talents beyond acting, including production, coordination, and event management, offering a holistic view of the filmmaking process.
Furthermore, NBS Plus amplified this local event to a national audience by broadcasting the watch party on its platform via AfroMobile. This extended reach ensures that the achievements of these young stars are recognized widely, inspiring other students across the country.
The Legends Watch Party stands as a testament to the powerful synergy between established media platforms and emerging talent. NBS Plus remains dedicated to creating these opportunities, investing in the storytellers and innovators who will define Uganda’s cultural story for years to come.
